Bluebox Avionics receives order from Airbus for advanced wireless IFE tests
Edinburgh, 29 October 2008 Bluebox Avionics Ltd announced today that it has been commissioned by Airbus to provide its advanced wireless IFE system for inclusion in the A380 demo mock-up in Hamburg. The commission will provide for a version of the Bluebox embedded wireless IFE product recently deployed on several VIP client aircraft and also test Bluebox Avionics latest software configurations for the ‘N’ Wi-Fi variant.
David Brown, Joint MD at Bluebox Avionics commented: "I am delighted that we have been chosen to partner with Airbus on such an exciting project, this certainly underlines our view that we are operating at the very forefront of wireless IFE technology and our aim of pushing the boundaries of accepted IFE system architecture, at an airframe manufacturer level, is being taken very seriously.”
It is understood that test rig equipment will be deployed in the next month with a fully working demo system operational before the end of the year.
